Ashok Leyland shares gain 5.01% as Sensex rises

Share price of Vedanta Ltd.  jumps  as Sensex  gains  75.95 points

Shares of Ltd. traded 5.01 per cent higher in Thursday’s session at 10:10AM (IST). The stock opened at Rs 118.5 and has touched an intraday high and low of Rs 122.6 and Rs 117.5, respectively, during the session so far.

The stock quoted a 52-week high of Rs 138.85 and a 52-week low of 37.35. About 1,208,588 shares changed hands on the counter so far.

Benchmark Nifty50 was up 123.7 points at 14942.75, while the BSE Sensex traded 405.15 points higher at 50066.91 at the time of writing of this report.

In the Nifty pack, 45 stocks traded the day in the green, while 5 were in the red.

Key Financials

For the quarter ended 31-Dec-2020, the company reported consolidated sales of Rs 6000.28 crore, up 54.74 per cent from the previous quarter’s Rs 3877.62 crore and up 15.2 per cent from the year-ago quarter. The company reported net profit of Rs 14.24 crore for the latest quarter.

Promoter Holdings

Promoters held 51.54 per cent stake in the company as of 31-Dec-2020, while FIIs held 16.3 per cent and MFs 10.97 per cent.


On the technical charts, the 200-Day Moving Average (DMA) of the stock stood at Rs 88.97 on April 08, while the 50-DMA was at Rs 123.42. If a stock trades above 50-DMA and 200-DMA, it usually means the immediate trend is upward. On the other hand, if the stock trades well below 50-DMA and 200-DMA both, it is considered as bearish trend and if trades between these averages, then it suggests the stock can go either way.
